Sorry that I have not posted in what seems like forever! I have had ALOT going on, which simply left me uninspired. I have a furbaby named Cooper and he is the sweetest little guy ever. I am sure all animal lovers think this of their pets, but mine really is the best!
I got him 11 years ago, soon to be 12, and he was this tiny little guy that we had to put a cat bell on, just so you wouldn’t trip over him. He is like my little shadow, always by my side.
He started to have seizures last October and happened once a month for about six months and we drove ourselves crazy trying to figure out if it was household products I was using to clean with, or that he had developed epilepsy after all this time.
We placed him on a medication that would help control them, but one day in May he had a really bad 24 hours, and we went into panic mode. We drove him to an emergency clinic an hour away from us, after several attempts by our family vet-God bless him, and when we got there, they simply said that we needed to take him somewhere else that would give him the best care which was another hour and 20 minutes from this clinic.
So, we did what any fur mommy and daddy would do, we drove him up to the other clinic and by 2am we were getting him admitted for observation. We stayed in a hotel just down the road and patiently awaited results from the Neuro team. Cooper was there for 4 days, we didn’t get to see him during these days, and coming home to an empty house was so saddening. By the fourth day they had called with the MRI results, brain cancer, he had a tumor.
We were in tears as they told us the options and boy did, they give us a lot to think about. The pricing, the durations, radiation, chemo, the whole nine yards. We decided to go with radiation, and he had to go stay another 3 days at the clinic. He has been back for one neuro checkup since then, and we are continuing to pray each and every day that the tumor will be gone by his next MRI in August. I am thankful for whatever time we are granted with him and no time will EVER be enough. I’ll update you all again after we get through the next couple of months.
Please keep us in your prayers and have a safe holiday weekend!
